This evening was open dorms here at school. This is just a completely awkward wrong event. Why do guys need to see where the girls sleep and visa versa? I mean when you have people over to your house it isn't like you take them and show them your bedroom. In one of the rooms in the guys dorm one of the guys dressed up as santa and was having their picture with everyone. They even put posters up in the cafeteria saying 'hey ladies come sit on santa's lap and get your picture taken with him'. How truely wrong is that?! The open dorm also just goes against all the rules that have been so strictly enforced on us all semester. That sure doesn't leave mixed messages. I know I know you are probably thinking, "well if you are in college then surely the mixed messages aren't really all that mixed." Well yes we are in college but here at school it sure feels like we are treated like children. How are we supposed to be prepared to go out into the world and share the gospel with the lost when we have had no chance to interact with them? We are so sheltered here that when we are kicked out into the real world it is like a huge culture shock!
Why in this school are there unwritten rules about everything? Such as rules about staying off campus during the week, or looking professional in yearbook pictures. Neither of those are written on paper. Ok well the professional pictures one is now but they totally made up that rule toward the end of the semester! Just like while playing a game you can't just randomly make up a rule in the middle because you don't like what happened. IT IS JUST PLAIN WRONG!
There is also a bunch of double standards going on. How is it that the bottom floor of the dorm the RA's are a lil more chilaxed about curfew and yet when someone from upstairs walks in less then five minutes late they call the upstairs RA's. I also find it interresting how tonite was open dorm so the downstairs RA's were pretty cool about the whole curfew thing and had people coming in 15 minutes late, but I show up six minutes late and get handed a violation. I just don't understand!
Well, That's all for tonite. I really just needed to vent and think through some of the crazy nonsense stuff that is going on. There is a lot more I could add to this but considering it is three in the morning and my head is spinning and pounding I think it is time to go to sleep! If you read this please leave me a comment and let me know if I am to out of line posting all of this.

Another english paper
A Character of Conjecture
Grandpa, an older gentleman with pepper colored hair. His hair cut short around the edges but just long enough on the top to be a comb-over that seldom laid in place. The immense, old blue recliner constituted the central place in the house to find him reading a newspaper with his magnifying glasses appearing as if he were a spaceship pilot directing a mission only he was aware of. If he didn’t have his magnifiers on, his black thick rimmed frames covered half of his face. His wrinkly skin like waves in an ocean spread across his weathered face, earned over the years of hard work.
His cold, over-sized hands that held dear all things from the daily paper, to his grandchildren’s hands, and finally to the waist of his wife of over fifty years, Grandma Betty. My Grandpa’s fingers were hard but wrinkly from having his blood sugar checked multiple times a day. He would take joy in that time by trying to get his grandchildren to holler ouch for him. Then if his grandkids would not holler then he would make a big deal out of it even if it did not really hurt. Eventually he would make his way to the breakfast table.
In the kitchen at the table grandpa would eat half a grapefruit, an egg, and sausage. As soon as he was finished he would start teasing the grandchild sitting nearest to him. Under the table he would grab their feet and see if they had socks on. If they did not have any socks on he would start playing ‘this little piggy went to market’. After a few times of that little game of tease he would ask if you wanted to count his toes. He would then take one of his Velcro shoes and his socks off. All that remained on the one foot was two toes. So he would then take off his other shoe and sock to count the toes on that foot. The other foot held only three toes. So it took both of grandpa’s feet to be able to play ‘this little piggy’.
This body never fought in a war, flew an airplane, or won a marathon, but he was as much of a hero in the minds of his grandchildren as someone that did.

My English Paper
MY CELL
So what did you do to get in? Yeah, yeah we are all innocent and that’s why we are here. What did I do to get in here? Well that’s a good question. I haven’t figured that out yet. Why don’t I share with you about where I am currently staying. Welcome to my cell which is located inside the bucket. Wondering what the bucket is? It is our prison slang for county jail. Every Tuesday and Thursday our building tenders come around and do a white glove check through our cell and powder room. They come around every night at 11 to make sure we are all back safe and sound in our cell.
I get the pleasure of sharing my confining cell with my inmate who is my cousin. This cousin, well it doesn’t matter what she committed. She has been here a long time and they even sent her to Peru for a while as part of her punishment. We got to decorate the cell however we wanted. The theme is bursting with colors. Square post-its are all over the walls framing different pictures. One of the pictures has the background that is a dark as night with a dark wood cross and a crown of thorns sitting on it. The other picture the post-its are framing is an extra pillow sham that has chocolate brown, orange, and pink stripes. The drapes are hot pink and brilliant orange.
Like most cells our cell doesn’t smell musty or moldy. It smells like cotton blowing in the wind. The hanging room is filled with wild colors and shapes. There are skirts and dresses of all shapes sizes, and colors. The hard as rock cadillacs have been covered with three inches of heaven, contraband memory foam. Just incase you are confused let me clarify that cadillacs are also known as beds. The one cadillac is bursting pink and the other is chocolate brown hot pink and brilliant orange.
The desks they give us are extra long and slightly messy. Not as messy as a pig pen. The mini fridge, next to one of the desks, is covered in food. There are crackers, nutella, and cereal. The cups are stacked nicely and the plates are clean.
Floor is clean. The bookshelves are covered in books. The towels are nicely stacked in the hanging room on a shelf. We were given two dressers that we stacked at the end of one of the cadillacs. They are full to the brim, but not overflowing.
The powder room is decorated with beautiful black and white pictures all along the counter. There are two rugs one with brown stripes the other has long shag of hot pink. Around the wall behind the toilet has chocolate brown posters with all four of the inmates names and chore we have to do for the week.
After a few lonely nights you will start to settle in as you add the few home quality touches to your own cell. Remember don’t make the building tenders mad. If you are good they will let you out soon.
